Through our educational workshops and trainings at the United Community Center (UCC), we empower our members to improve their quality of life and promote their personal and professional development. Our adult ESL program and other educational activities provide immigrant families with the language skills necessary to integrate into society and the job market. By providing them with the tools for success, we foster a sense of belonging and pride in our community.
For example, our ESL for adults’ program allows students to learn basic English and to continue with higher levels supported by technology. Empowering immigrant families to expand their social network where they will be able to engage in conversations with children, teachers, doctors, co-workers, and friends within the community.
It takes desire and hard work; but once accomplished, the education and gained skills will create a pathway to their future also employability raises to a higher standard of living for their families and the possibility to continue with educational and career paths.
The ability to communicate in English is fundamental for integration into society and the job market.
